In April of 2025 we decided to do something we never thought we would enjoy as much as we do. We purchased 25 Cornish Cross chicks from a well-known hatchery, made a brooder, a chicken tractor and provided meat for ourselves and family. We even processed them ourselves! I was very nervous leading up to this experience but I'll give some quick advice: get a chicken plucker! My boyfriend, Nick, bought me one for my birthday and it was the best gift I have ever gotten.
Anyway, fast forward through all the great reviews we received from our family and decided to do 75 this year. We are going to have 3 groups and sell to extended family and friends. Sorry for the lack of photos, that was our first egg on the farm. More to come this year!
At 5 Corners Farm, we believe in everything being as natural as possible. Our meat chickens are moved daily outside in a chicken tractor and our layers free range. We do not give any medication unless required which we have not run in to yet thankfully. We truly stand by our phrase of happy, healthy and honest.
